The World Football League has moved Sorry to say, but this site is no longer active and updated on a regular basis. The new site is located at www.pmfb.net/wfl/. Select the link to be directed there. The remaining links on this page should still work (at least the internal ones) if you're interested in information about our ninth season and team files and playbooks. For more current information, however, come visit us in the States on PMFB.net.
No reflection on the good folks at FortuneCity: They've been great, and helped us greatly during our season here in Europe. The webmaster at PMFB.net, however has offered us the kind of help that non-Playmaker addicts would have difficulty providing. In any case, just one season after jumping ship from America Online, we've left the cosmopolitan servers of FortuneCity in Europe to return to PMFB.net back in the U.S.A. Many thanks, in fact, to the folks at FortuneCity. No complaints here (I highly recommend FortuneCity's free site hosting if you're looking for someplace that can handle a decent amount of traffic -- and 100MB of files), it's just the PMFB.net guru has offered to hook us up with all sorts of freebies that should make site maintenance, drafting, and other similar minor annoyances a little simpler for the league office. And Lord knows, our head office is simple. One more bit of scenery that's changed is the faces around the league office. Calvin Curd followed up his World Bowl victory in WFLX with an offer that makes him all-world in my book -- he said he'd take over the job of running the league. One largely ceremonial vote later, he's in the big chair, surrounded by the usual suspects: Rick Prescott, AOL liaison; Brian Braunschweiger, game-runner herdsman; Bo Kallish-Hill, league headhunter (if you want to join our merry band, Bo's the place to start); and Dennis Monbarren, commissioner emeritus and the guy who doesn't keep the web site up to date. All four are now officially commissioners of vice (though I have my concerns about whether Brian can hold up his end -- he does, after all, work for the church). Halleluah! After three seasons in the salt mines, I was looking for the right pigeon ... er, volunteer. Now that he's here, I can go back to coaching the Bandits on a more regular basis. All playbooks and official team files available from the links at left. The files are stuffed and binhexed, so you'll need Stuffit Expander (available free from Aladdin Systems) to decode them. -- Dennis Monbarren |
